My Piece...

I'm working through my material to construct my set. So far it includes murder, sex, colds, maybe getting visas (but not sure), Madge & Guy's divorce, and lawyers--all the sorts of things that beset us in our quotidian existence. Sounds cheerful too.

Trouble is, I can't really say what's in it...I'm trying to intimate.

Ah......

I hope, like a good piece of academic writing, that the central theme/skeleton/ voice will emerge. Perhaps you need some time away from it so you can look at it more clearly, fairly and honestly.

In any case, it sounds like it's full of sparkling witticisms. When is the big event?

And thanks for your comment on my most recent post. Appreciated.

As you once put in one of your posts, you were not ready to "rock up with a page of notes and give an engaging performance at a conference", I am not able to do that with this. When you've lived with your research for long enough, you know it. Even though I might have lived with some of the stuff in my set, whether I know it is moot. More to the point, how much do I want to know it?
I think knowing it very well is crucial because you need to make sure it works (the order/delivery), but I imagine (and I have not done your course) that you need to have some looseness about it all, so you can respond to the crowd and atmosphere.

I am sure that once you get up there your natural performing/showman abilities will kick in.

ps. Not quite sure what you mean by the craxy early times, because on my computer they say 8pm and 1pm (approx)?? Will do some detective work...
crazy..craxy is quite a cool word though.
